My word. They’re lean. They’re mean. They’re hungry.

We just wanted to draw your attention to the fact that Helen McGonigal, one of our Governors is now a published author!
We’re very proud of Helen and it’s been lovely that she’s been able to pop into school and talk to our children about what being an author REALLY means and also to give us some first-hand tips for story writing.
Helen’s book, ‘Mummy Makes Milk’, is a beautifully illustrated picture book which has just the right amount of information for little ones.
If you’d like to see the book itself, then we have a copy in school, or you can order it online.

We were delighted to welcome Karl and Duane from Bishop Auckland Astronomical Society to our Assembly today.
Duane and Karl gave us a really interesting talk about constellations and the tales behind them. They’ve also promised to pop back with a specially designed telescope that allows you to watch the surface of the Sun. They were also really impressed by Billy, who asked some fabulous questions. If you’d like to know more, then click here.

The fabulous Miss Shotton visited shops celebrating Free Comic Book Day 2015 this week and brought back loads of comics for our children to read. There are dozens of types.
From Spongebob to Doctor Who and from Manga to Ninja Turtles – the children are in absolute raptures.
More information can be found here, if you’d like to learn a little more.

Such a brilliant effort from everyone at school today. We’ve managed to raise almost £150 from our non-uniform day and for a little school, that’s just fantastic. Millions of thanks to our fabulous kids and parents. We’ll send the cheque off right away.

We’ve been following the tragedy in Nepal this week in Assembly. The children very much wanted to help and we’ve decided to hold a Non-uniform Day on Friday to do a little bit of fundraising.
We’d like to ask the children to bring £1, or whatever you can afford on Friday and in return, we’re all coming to school demob.
Thanks very much indeed for your support. We’ll be sending all money raised to Oxfam and if you’d like to donate anything yourself, then you can do so here.
